Q. Can I bring my children to the festival?
Yes, the festival committee strives to present performers who are appropriate for all ages, and children are encouraged to come and enjoy the event. Many children do attend. However, parents may want to use caution around the vending area, as the vendors may have adult content at their booths. Vending booths must be publicly appropriate, but may not always be child-appropriate as determined by a parent/guardian.
Q. Are men allowed to come to the festival?
Yes. The entire community is invited. The IWMF is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to celebrate women in music and the arts.
Q. What is the seating situation at the festival?
A limited number of chairs will be available for at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. Festival attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs. Low-back chairs are not required. There is no sectioned seating, except for those needing deaf and HOH seating in front of the ASL interpreters. There are no areas specifically for smokers. Smoking will not be allowed in the the Johnson County Fairgrounds buildings. Festival attendees are asked to smoke outside of Fairgrounds buildings and to be respectful of other festival attendees when smoking outside.
Q. Is food available at the festival? Can we bring our own?
Food vendors will be available at the festival. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be sold throughout the festival duration, with options ranging from small snacks and desserts to the more substantial. Festival attendees are welcome to bring their own coolers with food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Q. Is alcohol for sale or allowed at the festival?
We are working to have a beer/wine vender at the festival this year.
Q. Are pets allowed at the festival?
Well behaved dogs are welcome to attend with their responsible humans. We only ask that you be respectful that everyone is not a dog lover and respond respectfully and responsibly should any concerns arise, and that you clean up after them.
Q. How do I get tickets to the festival?
The mainstage on Saturday afternoon is free to attend and does not require advanced registration or a ticket.
